This might not be the best week to open a new blog. On Sunday, Emily Gould warned bloggers everywhere about over-share on the internet. Livejournal served me well during high school and college, but graduating from college has given me a nice opportunity to try something new.
In her piece for the Sunday Nytimes Magazine, Gould discusses her inclination to expose herself and others through blogging and the consequences resulting from over-exposure and lowered privacy. I’ll be surprised if this little WordPress endeavor ever attains more than twenty readers. For one thing, I do not work for Gawker. For another, I do not plan to write confessional, tell-all 2:00 a.m. posts regretted the morning after.
So here it goes: the semi-grown-up manifestation of frickers.livejournal.com. Consider it a metamorphosis; a caterpillar emerging from a friendly cocoon into something new but recognizably the same.
